At it again

If in doubt, or it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere - put it here.

At it again

Well seems my motorcycle stock has risen again. I now have 2 It175s yamaha, a 1972 Kawasaki ke100 and another Rd400. This is along with the Kawasaki Klr650 and Jamie's yamaha serow 225.. More to come me thinks.
I also have a dt175 yamaha that would be a good project for someone.

Jim, are you going to open up a used motorcycle shop? How about starting a club? Just a thought.

THERE IS NO MONEY IN MOTORCYCLES!!! But I would love to open my own place. Have Guzzi/Aprillia,Triumph,Husaburg,Husky and CanAm. That would cover the bases. And maybe GasGas or Sherco.

Oh? But there is money in motorcycles. It's learning which ones are increasing in value and finding the one you can afford.
Some should be restored to increase the value, and some should just be preserved. Always try to get the full history with the purchase. I wish I had kept more of the rare bikes I've had over the years.

I know. Its funny to see a bike like I had or a friend had years ago for sale for big$. I had 3 GT380 Suzukis in about '92 that I had a hard time getting rid of! 1 runner and 2 parts bikes that I sold to a friend for $250! Bent Bike wouldnt take the parts bikes for free! There is $ in classic cars, bikes, boats, guitars etc. You just have to know what youre buying and and not spend too much on resto. our shop at work has a bunch of old jap bikes that the boss thinks are going to bring big $ some day soon and makes it my job to see that it happens. Anyone have a stock seat for a 77 GL1000 laying about? But as far as new bikes go there isnt alot money in it. But I still would rather be doing this than most other things. One of the best things about it is the customers. You share a common interest if not a passion. Most of my friends Ive met here I get paid to play with motocycles all day.

I still have a GT380 ('72) in really rough shape that I may get to at some time in the future.

Lots of money in motorcycles !

Wait, I mean lots of money *spent* on motorcycles, but I'm not sure anyone makes much on them...

I don't want to think how much I have into my KTM now. I got a great price on it new (thanks to PAPower) but I have this problem. I can't seem to leave it alone. I like to fine tune it for my use and have a hard time passing up neat gadgets I think will work well (like the new carb).
But it is great fun.

If I wasn't so slow, I'd do more work on bikes and oddball autos for customers, but I keep it as a hobby, working on what and for who (whom?) I feel like. Maybe not making much (or nothing, depending) but have a lot of fun.

Maybe when I retire I'll do more and make a few extra bucks doing it.
