Haven't worked on the Double for a few days but still gathering parts. The grandsons are here for ten days so will be having lots of fun. My friend Alp is close to finishing his nitro burning Vinnie and plans on being at Bonneville next week with it.
His work is stunning and his bikes go as fast as they look. He's looking to be the first 1000cc vintage class fuel bike to go 200+ mph.

Work is progressing on the old drag bike. The drive line is complete except for the double sprocket from the rear engine to the clutch. I need to heat up the larger gear before it can be pressed on the hub of the engine sprocket.

Are you uploading photos from your computer or a image storage site?
Always wear protective gear. Usually SPF 30 will do.

I think it's more of a minor defugalty of the PHPBB forum software.
Always wear protective gear. Usually SPF 30 will do.

Thanks to Jay the photo issue has been resolved.
The drive line special sprocket is finished. It took extra heat and pressure to get both sprockets lined up perfectly.

The next step will be adding a 1-1/2" socket to the crankshaft for a remote starter. It will be the same starter I built for the Vincent land speed bike.

Copper head gaskets for the Routt 800cc cylinders are unobtanium. They were made to bolt up to mid 60s 9 bolt heads so I made a fixture using the damaged cylinder and a piece of formica covered wood to hold the gasket in place while opening up the bore.
The copper gaskets are annealed and very soft so not that easy to cut.
