If in doubt, or it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere - put it here.

Forks and front wheel on.
I have to adjust the front fender (they changed the mount a bit over the years).

Ah, that looks more like it. A real roller now. Did you decide how to finish the brake disks?

After more cleaning up and looking- I am going to try it out without any more work on them. (I think)
They are pretty good, with just one spot with a little pocketing on one disc. Since the cast iron ones seem to be pretty rare now (replacements I’ve seen are stainless) I think I’ll try it out without removing any metal and see.

Otherwise I could pop off the disc with holder (and included bearing) and I think would not be bad to turn on a lathe.

It actually rolled it on it’s own wheels!
Ok- maybe 30cm, but rolled.

I believe I found a US source for the big connectors in the headlamp- I’m replacing those and making a new harness inside the headlamp (main harness is new).
I’ll try to match colours to new harness- and make a decent diagram in colour too.

I’m doing the carbs now. Good thing I have extras, the ones that came off are stuck (soaking) and I didn’t like the looks of some other parts.
But I have one good set (I think) and working them over.

I was considering mounting the new exhausts- but I’m sure they would just get in my way. So I’ll finish some other things first.

New ‘Enduralast’ higher output alternator installed too.

I’ve been moving along. Sometimes I have to wait for paint to dry (and mount) or clean it up first or…
But more and more.

Chain is on (I got an O-ring)
Footpeg mounts all painted and new rubbers
Correct screws for clutch side done and tightened
Kickstart installed
Master cylinder rebuilt and on (had to use the mini-lathe to make a special tool)
Brake hoses all on
New calipers mounted
O-rings installed for valve adjustment caps and those tightened
Taillamp mounted in chrome gizmo is uses and will mount soon
All the new wiring connectors are in- so next big job is figuring it all out- and modifying for the new alternator
Those side panels are extras and so is the tank. I’ll be painting the originals.

I vaporhoned the exhaust collar which was painted black. Sure looks neat natural!

I have a new main harness, but will fabricate the one inside the headlamp and a couple small parts.

The wiring schematics are notoriously hard to read- none seem to be a particularly good copy and all too small.
So I took the best (combing Italian, German and English ones) and making up smaller sections that i will draw up in Visio in colour.
So far it is making it a LOT easier and I am making progress.

This bike will be better than new when you're finished with it.

I’ve been slowly building the headlamp/instrument/bar control wiring harness. I am using all new connectors/pins/wire.
I never have liked using the old stuff- by this time they are not in very good condition anymore.

Of course I have other stuff going on, so less time last couple of days to work on it.
After this, I’ll wire in the alternator upgrade and figure how to fit updated coils/wires etc.
