Benelli 750 sei

If in doubt, or it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere - put it here.

I got the frame mostly sandblasted today. The pressure sandblaster a buddy gave to me was difficult (well, for me anyway) to get setup for proper amount of sand. Too much or too little.
But I got all the difficult parts and can wire brush/sand the rest and do paint prep.

The ‘O’ rings for the head/cylinder came in, so I can fit that soon. Turned down a 24mm (thread) nut to go on the crank end. Made it easy to use a dial indicator and get a really good TDC. Marked it and will fit the degree wheel when it comes time to setup ignition.

Sounds like serious progress there. Bet it's nice to have the motor buttoned up. I should have offered you my siphon feed sand blaster and tent. It works much better than the pressure pot type. The same company that made my media blast machine made it for me.

After looking at the frame (and still need to do swingarm) the sandblasted part is great. So having something to do the rest would be worth it I think- especially if I can not waste a bunch of abrasive.

So if I could use it…
I think you have my phone (and maybe email?)

Thanks!
Mark

I figured how to setup the pressure sandblaster (the instructions were way off).
John let me know current places to get media, it was cheap too.

I got the frame blasted, but will do the swingarm later.
Next prep and paint.

I spent 40 minutes making a really nice seal driver for the clutch cover seal- even though I probably could have found a socket in about 5 minutes that would have worked fine. But it was fun to make and have one more in my seal driver kit.

Clutch cover will go on next- should have the ‘disc’ seals in a few days and can bolt up the cam over, adjust valves.
Not much more until I get the engine in the frame.

I think Blake Tile and Stone in Sequim would be a good source for fine washed sand.

Engine almost all done. I somehow forgot to clean up the rest of the valve cover bolts- so need to do that, torque it all down and adjust valves. Then pop in the new studs.

I have two coats of new paint on the frame, a couple more and I can fit engine.

What a beautiful engine Mark. I would be tempted to make it a display for a while. Bet you can't wait to hear it run.

Final coat (for top/sides).
Tyre is in the sun warming up- so I can mount it on the rear wheel.

I’ll put frame over engine after it has cured a few days.

Frame looks nice. How do you put the motor in the frame? From the side or by laying them on the side? You mention 'frame over the engine'. Let me know if you need an extra pair of hands.
