Benelli 750 sei

If in doubt, or it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere - put it here.

How's the rest of the engine looking? Can you use the old pistons?

I could, but I’m replacing them. I’ll keep them for possible future (I have other spares too).
I did not inspect the pistons for re-use, but I’ll bet they would be fine (assuming the ring lands are good on the piston with stuck rings).

Everything else is looking good, although I’m going to replace the primary and cam chains, just to make sure. Valves, head looks good.

Very cool bike, I should find and post that picture of one I saw in Seattle.

Do you have an idea why the engine was so carboned up? Do the valve stem have seals on them.

Yes, they are supposed to have valve seals- but I have not pulled it apart to see what sort of condition (if any) it on there.
It doesn’t seem too bad for the kilometers (well, now I forget how many it has)...but certainly has a layer.

How is the project coming? Will you have it ready to ride when warm weather hits?

The shaft for the estart and morse chain is out in pic.

It is coming along pretty well. I still have some things to finish on the garage, but I’ve been taking the engine apart to verify what I will need to get it back up to snuff. I’m gong to do more than I originally planned, but may was well do it when it is apart.
I’m hoping to have it going in a few months- BUT lots of things could put that back. I have not started on the frame, suspension, brakes yet. Plus I’ll need to paint tank and side covers.
The spokes are pretty rusty, so at some point I’ll respoke with stainless spokes- but may well wait until next winter to tackle that. I don’t know yet.

Going to the Scottish Six Days Trial too this year- watch a few days then wander around a bit. So that will take time along with other serious goofing off and grandkid time.

I took my cases to be vapor honed- they came out great!

Is the blaster local? Soda blast just doesn't look that great. My unit was originally a vapor blast unit for dentist labs. It was
converted to dry by the mfg so no going back.

The person is in Shelton.

I have a small unit, but not big enough for those long cases. I can do smaller stuff (or will be when I get it set up- I’m doing the air lines in garage now).
