Ran across several photos of Vincents, as well as a current project.
Probably from someone John knows - Tom Bingham.

Max Lambky was the builder of the drag bike back in the 60s. The bike he is building now is using the motors out of his streamliner which has been retired. It should be ready to run at Bonneville this year.
For a guy in his 80s he still has a passion for building fast motorcycles.

John,
Thought you would know the builder.
Some very interesting engineering going on in all of them.

I hope to finish the drag bike this year. Still have to make valves and cams.

Thanks Gordon.
Put some time in today building a crank where the main shaft had spun in the flywheel. Also the thrust washer was scored.
After the old main shaft was pressed out I surface ground the thrust washer then bored the flywheel to accept the new oversize main shaft. With a bit of 609 loctite it's all pressed together and ready to get bored out for the new rod pin bearing set. The other flywheel is the timing side and that shaft is ok but it will get bored for the new rod pin as well. It will then get pressed together and balanced.

I finally made some progress on the Vinnie yesterday. Figured I'd better do it before my eye surgery.
It's not a difficult job but very time consuming since the end result is .001 clearance across the surface of the bearing journal.
Next will be setting up the side clearance for the rods then pressing the other flywheel in place and zeroing in the main bearing journals. Next will be fitting the crank into the engine cases to check for making the rods central in their bores.
This is done by shimming or grinding on the drive side main shaft bearings. The timing side rides on cylindrical bearings.

Thanks Gordon, today will be spent truing the crank. Sometimes it's a breeze other times it may take a few hours. Today it's a cranky crank.
