Speedweek

If in doubt, or it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere - put it here.

Hello guys,
Bonneville 2016 is now history and what a wild ride it was. We did have our fair share of bad luck but we never gave up and somehow pulled it all together to receive a new record for the book!
We tried tipping the can with Nitro and just couldn't get there. We do have some ideas why we failed to substantially increase power with it and we have approximately 51 weeks to sort it out!

Overall, the bike screamed! I honestly believe that 130mph was available, with gearing, on 100% methanol fuel!

If you guys would like to hear it, I can tell (in detail) the story of the salt this year at the next Olymoto meeting.

Thanks for all your support! It was a great year for our team. :D

With Speed Week 2016 in the rear view mirror, teams are already developing their plans for next year's event, after all there are only about 50 weeks to get everything done.
The Tri-Mac Speedsters are no different in this respect. For instance, I've already done the math to determine the new blower/engine drive ratio to increase the plenum boost from 5psi, closer to my target pressure of 8psi. Boosting the plenum pressure will definitely give me an increase in horsepower.
We also have big plans for improving our basic 'Aero package' which will include the installation of a belly pan to smooth the airflow under the bike. We'd like to break into the 130's mph!
There is no end to this story, just like any other form of racing where the search for improvements in performance and handling never rest!
