I think back on some of my custom builds and then I look at this jet turbine bike which included a home built turbine engine.
I wouldn't even know where to begin. Anders is in Sweden and built his bike for land/lake speed records.

Building and restoring are satisfying projects, but I can't help thinking about that nice Bultaco Alpina you pictured and would add if you want to add a bit of trail riding to your retirement, I would invite you to join a couple of other older riders for some casual exercise. We take a lot of breaks with our riding.

Art, I just may take you up on that offer sometime. It would take some doing to get the Alpina ready to go so probably would rely on the XR250R with a bit of gearing changes.

XR250R will certainly be a good machine for the local trails. Stock gearing will work fine.
We tend to ride Foothills the most, as it is right on the edge of Port Angeles. We also try and pick the better weather days, which for this week looks like tomorrow. As a couple hours of riding is usually enough, we don't break a leg getting up and out early.
We are looking forward to riding as much as reasonable through the winter we have here.
