OK, this is no vintage bike (unless a 1999 is now vintage) but thought some of you may like to see a couple of pics anyway.

I've been having a great time on my track bike, 1999 Aprilia RS250 Cup racer.
This is a 250 V-twin 2- stroke racer, nice and light, handles fantastic and even has pretty good power (over about 9k rpm)

I've been tho the new track near Shelton a couple of times (The Ridge) and just went to SIR (OK, Pacific Raceways). Surface is horrible there but a fun layout. I manage to loose the front and rear on turn 4, but just a bit and no drama.
I'm starting to get the hangs of it, bumped up from level 1 and was passing lots of people in the corners ,nobody on the straights). My buddy (very fast) took it out in the fast guy group and passed LOTS of litre and above bikes on the backside. I don't think he let off the throttle! I had my video camera on it, but the battery went dead. Dang! That would have been some great video. He got it up to 127mph on the straight- not bad for a 250!
Anyway, here are a couple of pics, I have some video also if anyone is interested.

Here is the Desmonorthwest crowd I hang out with. My little smoker on the far right.
I think three Panigales in that group so far.

Oh yeah, I painted it also.
I have a bunch of metallic black and metallic silver left.

Nice lookin' scooter and 127mph on the straights ain't too shabby for a 250cc. Happy to see (and hear) two strokes at the tracks. Can't wait for direct injection to be perfected which just may bring the 'Smokers' back! Uncomplicated, lightweight and fast, what else could you ask for? Thanks for sharing your outing, vintage or not...

A guy is building an engine for the Aprilia, looks liked based on the 250, but a V-4 instead, 500cc!

120-180 HP, depending. In a bike that weighs sub 280lbs, not bad!

My (very fast) buddy Bong says I need to do the conversion, so he can ride it!
He really likes the RS250, he took it out a couple of times rather than his Panigale.

Just a little matter of cash...

It is the guys own design.
I think (but not positive) it used Aprilia cranks (ok, Suzuki) and similar barrels/heads. I'm not sure if it will have PVs or not.
It uses an MV tansmisson I think.

The site is in some other language (I'm only fairly fluent in English and baby talk).
I'm sure I can't afford it, but it sure looks cool!

Image 180hp with 280lbs?
Pesky litre bikes wouldn't pass you on the straights with that!
