My plan was to paint the frame- but a person is buying the bike and I need to get it done very soon. So I took it to the powdercoater.
They did a great job. Fuel tank had some pinholes, so I Tig silcon bronze repaired them. A couple were a little tricky.
So tank is one done yet, but everything else is. I am reassembling now.

SDP - across 101 from State Partrol office (and bit East).
They did the wheels on my Lotus too- they came out so good I decieded to do the bike.
I was going to do the Wheels, but just had too many things to do and it was slow going getting old paint off.

I made up a new wiring harness- just have to connect to the handlebar switch and do front brake switch.

Just waiting on a carb part I wanted to replace, and some pre-selector parts I decided to replace.

That's coming out really nice. I talked to those guys at SDP just as they opened up. I may take a frame to them to see how it turns out.

I was very happy with what he has done. All the appropriate places were blocked/masked, everything covered well. Also made good suggestions on colour and prep.

After the great job on the Lotus wheels, this was a good choice.

I fired it up today- first kick!
  I kicked it through with the stock Magneti Marelli plug to get things moving, but when I then checked it not very good spark. So when I really tried- I swapped with an NGK.

I installed the new handlebar light/horn/kill switch and ran it for a few minutes on my test fuel bottle. It seems to run pretty well. Tomorrow I will run it longer, test all the lights etc. waiting for a new fuel cap and a part for the pre-selector. Then I can fill tank and ride it around! That will be fun.
If all checks out I am done.

The Dynamo sure turned out super. Was that the original color of the frame? Glad to hear they prepped everything properly before coating. I wasn't going to powder coat the z1r frame but now I think I will. I want to preserve the metallic Identification tag on the steering head which wouldn't survive being blasted.

The original colour of frame is quite similar, but not the same. I thought this looked good and is a bit darker I think.

Is the metallic ID plate glued on? If so, the heat for curing may cause an issue. Wax over it for blasting may protect it? I think if London looks at it he can let you know or come up with ideas. I know those can be duplicated also, I have gotten OSSA ones in the past. There is no frame stamping on those, just the sticker and by now most are in pretty poor condition.

The Id plate is thin and glued on. Almost like an aluminum foil. Maybe I can find a way to remove it before powder coating and put it on later. The frame is stamped with ID numbers only. The sticker has the weight, tire size and date of assembly.
