Double Trouble

If in doubt, or it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere - put it here.

Yeh, we can have a startup party. The WVM bike show is in April so we will plan one after that.

That would be pretty cool.
I hope to have the sei painted by then, and some other fine tuning done. Took it out saturday, once up to temp it is running really well.

The 2 torque plates are different, in part due to wear and tear and probably different crankcases.
So each plate is fit individually. I didn't have any steel handy so made them from stainless steel.

The pieces need to be in place for welding so will move the unit out to the welding area tomorrow.

When mounting the injectors I noticed a seriously warped manifold. Now I remember there was an extra thick gasket here when I disassembled the motors. I had a choice of pulling the head and and milling the surface true or using a vixen file. Two hours later I had it filed flat.

Double checked the oil and fuel tanks again before buffing them to the final finish. It's a dirty job for sure.
The fuel tanks will have Triumph logos on them.

The Double, with the exception of the exhaust pipes, is finished. I haven't decided on chrome or ceramic for the finish.
On to the next project.

Always wear protective gear. Usually SPF 30 will do.

One project done, time for the next one. My Shadow has been in a wood box for close to 35 years waiting to be restored. Well, it's time to get it done. I broke it down back then but life got in the way so it was sealed in a box until now. I'm looking forward to the project. The R60/2 will be sold to help make it possible.
Maybe I'll do a build thread if anyone is interested.
