Engine almost all done. I somehow forgot to clean up the rest of the valve cover bolts- so need to do that, torque it all down and adjust valves. Then pop in the new studs.
I have two coats of new paint on the frame, a couple more and I can fit engine.
Yes, get ahold of me. Looks like you did it last time, but if you can do the Lake Quinault ‘loop’ (North Shore, North Fork, Big Bridge, Graves ck and South Shore) try to do it early in the morning. I worked there 5 years and would see elk all the time. Graves Creek wouldn’t be a bad place to stay
I have a HTP Invertatig 221- so with a couple passes probably could have done it fine too. that Miller is a very nice machine. I’m always pretty cautious when welding something I have no idea what it is made from. Helps if there are some ‘scaps’ to test and setup up. But I’m by no means any expert w...
Swingarm looks fabulous. Interesting on lightening flywheel- I really like the heavy flywheel on my vintage OSSA. I wish my XTrainer had a heavier one, but I’ll have to make one myself since nobody makes one.
Is that a common complaint with those? (Very nice work on turning it down)
I figured how to setup the pressure sandblaster (the instructions were way off). John let me know current places to get media, it was cheap too. I got the frame blasted, but will do the swingarm later. Next prep and paint. I spent 40 minutes making a really nice seal driver for the clutch cover seal...
Sounds like serious progress there. Bet it's nice to have the motor buttoned up. I should have offered you my siphon feed sand blaster and tent. It works much better than the pressure pot type. The same company that made my media blast machine made it for me. After looking at the frame (and still n...
I got the frame mostly sandblasted today. The pressure sandblaster a buddy gave to me was difficult (well, for me anyway) to get setup for proper amount of sand. Too much or too little. But I got all the difficult parts and can wire brush/sand the rest and do paint prep. The ‘O’ rings for the head/c...
