Re: Benelli 750 sei

Here is a couple of sample pics. Before and after an initial go. I put it back in and now they look pretty much as good as the best part all over. No light, so I put a LED trouble light over the top. I will see about a little better lighting method. Something inside would be nice, maybe a small wate...

Re: Benelli 750 sei

Vaporhoning.com I did something similar for my wheel- I routed out a piece of plywood to allow the brake drum to sit at the correct height, then the Rim sits on the wood. I screwed some bocks in to make the hub/rim centered. A bolt down the middle of the hub to hold it in place. I *think* I’ll be ab...

Re: Benelli 750 sei

I bought it. It does a very nice job. A lot slower than the ‘pro’ ones- but does just as nice job. Just takes longer. The big ones are quite expensive ($5-10k) and I couldn’t justify something like that. I did this hub this morning along with some other small parts. Looks quite nice. I need to polis...

Re: Benelli 750 sei

I took apart my spare rear wheel today. All the spokes came loose just fine. Checking the new Bucannan stainless spokes, a quick check looks like they will work just fine. There are two different bends on the rear (all straight pull on the front). But they packed in two bags, so should help. Having ...

Re: Benelli 750 sei

I cleaned up, lubed and installed the shift drum and shift forks. Very similar to Honda 500/4- but more robust. Wish I could put in the gearbox, but the since the darn Post Office lost my package... I popped a valve out of the head. Looks ok once cleaned up and lapped. But I’ll check everything. The...

Re: Benelli 750 sei

The main/rod bearings are finally ready to ship. They made a claim for all the parts the post office lost - so hopefully that is resolved before too long. I’m finally feeling good again, so time to get cracking. I have new stainless spokes and a spare rear. So I’m going to start on that one (lots of...

Re: Double Trouble

I’m waiting on parts. Although I could start stripping the frame... I also have another project, fitting a 4-shoe drum brake to the front of my 73 Benelli 250 SuperSport. It is off a Benelli 250 2C (2-stroke) and when I had one of those, the brakes were superb. Front now (two shoe, single) is pretty...

Re: Double Trouble

I got some ‘cast off’ tyre warmers from a track person upgrading. Warming the tyre up well with it makes a big difference (lots of Rugyde too).

Re: Benelli 750 sei

Yes, I’ve gotten a number of things from him.
Some just spares, some I needed.
