Re: Benelli 750 sei

I measured it, and of course forgot what it was before I wrote back...
So I did again.

5.45mm diamter. Pretty small. (Each cylinder is 125cc)

I’ll measure tomorrow. They are pretty small.

Good Luck.

I have a seat grinder, but if valves turn out to need grinding, I would most certainly appreciate it.

Re: Benelli 750 sei

The head is all apart and I’m cleaning carbon. After cleaning well, valves look quite good, guides have very little play. I’ll check, but I think I can just lap the valves. Still loads more cleaning to do. (It is pretty messy) I think I’ll try to get the head done before I start with the bottom end....

Re: Valve grinder

I did contact that person.   If not worn out- a fair price (also has seat grinder). But then I realized it may not do small valve stems without searching for a proper collet. So I’m going to keep my eyes open. One with the stone on the right side for stem ‘truing’ is more useful for other things. I ...

Valve grinder

I am sort of looking for a valve grinder. I foolishly didn’t bid on a nice old Soux machine (ok, years ago).

Anyone know of a functional one around for not a load of cash?

Re: Double Trouble

I certainly always enjoy seeing what others are doing. I don’t know much about machining parts, although something I’ve always been interested in doing. I’ve mostly finished the new wiring harness and installing lights on the old OSSA Explorer. As soon as that is done, I hope to start in on the Bene...

Re: Benelli 750 sei

Thanks I have a portable sandblaster (gave away my cabinet and got a vaporhoner). Yes, I want lots of time and room for the engine. It is pretty straightforward, but I want to keep focused on it when I start. I have not gone through the head yet either. Of course, I may go riding tomorrow instead of...

Re: Benelli 750 sei

I managed to get a bit of time to work on the big Benelli (I got a darn cold too- slowed me down). I stripped the rest off the frame, just need to take off swingarm now. Next I’ll sand or sandblast the frame before painting (might powder-coat, but probably paint). Still have things to finish before ...

Re: Benelli 750 sei

I have done nothing! Too much other stuff going on and not the time to really dig in.    I really need to finish stripping the frame, then I can use the other lift for stuff. I like using my ‘main’ lift for working on the engine, since it is big, well lit and can set at just the right height for wor...
