Re: Shadow Build

It is a shame to take it apart and do over- but a LOT better than having engine issues later.
Always good to catch it early.

Re: OSSA Super Pioneer

Yes, I should label or stamp them. Although if I just put them in with all my other bearing drivers, they should be pretty quick to find. I may be getting a larger vapor honer, one of the reasons I spent too much on the new air compressor. The one I have is fine with the air my old one put out-but t...

Re: OSSA Super Pioneer

I see I mentioned this on the Benelli mini thread. So I’ll put it here where it belongs (for the 2 people that read it). I got a newer ‘conical’ front brake hub and backing plate. That will be for the longer travel Betor forks I picked up NOS. They have a different backing plate holding system, so I...

Re: Benelli Dynamo Compact

It is coming along. I ordered bearings and they just shipped. I got a new air compressor (Quincy rotary screw) so I can use the vapor honer in a LOT more comfort. So next I’ll finish vapor honing, install bearings and reassemble cases. I’ll likely make a special tool to pull it together. The bearing...

Re: Shadow Build

I’ll bet somebody still has parts- easier to find ‘hard to find parts’ now than it would have been 30 years ago.

How is the cylinder?

I’m pretty sure it did.
I can easily check if desired though.

Re: Shadow Build

Good thing you had the rod truing tester.

It would be pretty silly to go to all that work and have something out of true and wear very quickly.

Re: Benelli Dynamo Compact

Next I had to remove the ‘pinion gear’ (drive gear of crankshaft). Another taper fit with key. Not much room and none of my pullers would fit. I was trying to figure how to make one- hopefully without spending 3 hours. I found a very small tie-rod end puller at the discount parts store. I just had t...
